New Horizons IT Computer Courses @ SSC

October 21 - 25, 2013 / Bldg. 1103, Room 1005

New Horizons Computer Learning Center and the Center of Higher Learning will be offering IT computer training courses at the Stennis Space Center the week of October 21 - 25, 2013.

These courses will be offered as "Online Live" classes, an integrated learning experience using the internet to provide live, interactive lessons between an instructor and students.  Although separated by geography, instructors and students share active discussions, practice labs, simultaneous document viewing, and virtual rooms for breakout groups.

Online Live classes follow the same framework as our traditional instructor-led training. Using lecture, demos, and freehand diagramming, our certified trainers provide instruction through our collaborative eLearning platform. All students are issued low-noise headphones with microphones, and may freely participate in discussions with the instructor or with other students by voice or through text-chat. VoIP technology allows for clear, uninterrupted voice communication. Students apply what they learn in lecture by working on hands-on labs in a virtual environment. During their lab practice, the instructor can provide one-to-one mentoring, using remote sharing technology to view and manage the student's computer.

Any of the following classes may be taken during the week of Oct. 21 - 25.  Each class will meet from 8:00a - 4:00p in Bldg. 1103, Room 1005 (CHL Computer Training Lab).  The specific dates and costs for each class is listed below.

For more information or to register for these classes, please contact Kenneth Raymond at 504-849-6611 or kenneth.raymond@newhorizons.com
